Find the Dewey number.

For the solo librarian and the small library that isn’t in OCLC: find a Dewey Decimal number by ISBN, title, or subject — copied from open catalog records, never composed, and yours to verify against your shelf. When a book has no number of its own — fiction, or something too new or too small to be catalogued — Dewey Lookup can construct or suggest one, always clearly labelled as such.

Tip: on a phone or tablet, tap Scan and point the camera at the barcode on the back of the book. With a USB barcode scanner, click the box and scan — most scanners type the ISBN and press Enter.
